Life is performance...
A lifelong student of human potential, JD Hixson is a science and data-informed integral performance consultant.
With a background in classical music, he holds master and doctoral degrees from The Juilliard School, where he became fascinated with virtuosity and physicality and, for years, conducted, performed as soloist and recorded around the world, all the while secretly yearning for the earthy, simple and hard-working life of long distance running.
In 2018, he began coaching seriously with renowned trail runner and mountain athlete Donnie Campbell, soon travelling to Spain to participate in his trail running training camp, an experience that continues to inspire him to this day, and one that resulted in an ongoing friendship and coaching mentorship in the science of natural running.
For over a decade, he also worked in the field of B2B technology and database marketing, specifically for the arts and culture industry, partnering closely with leading arts organizations and government cultural bodies in the US, NZ and Australia as consultant - a perfect launchpad into athletic performance analytics, with the phenomenal TrainingPeaks as his preferred platform.
A few days a week he works at a very fine language school in Tokyo, a post he enjoys tremendously. He lives to run and analyzes his own data with sights set on a few choice finisher medals. 😉
