theatreology is devoted to organizing amateur acting workshops exploring the actor training process outlined in the work of Konstantin Stanislavsky, in the firm belief that creative and expressive dramatic investigation is fundamentally life enhancing.
The workshops integrate Stanislavsky's own pioneering creative mind/body approach with others that followed his vision, including Michael Chekhov, Bella Merlin and Amanda Brennan as well as the research of Sergei Tcherkasski into Stanislavsky's fascination with and subsequent (involuntary) reticence on yoga. It goes without saying that Leopold Sulerzhitsky is also called upon for occasional colorful variety.
Bella Merlin's The Complete Stanislavsky Toolkit is essential reading for participants with workshops drawing and expanding on many of the tools, including:
