The Truth Rising Project: An Overview
Truth Rising is a multimedia initiative presented by the Colson Center for Christian Worldview and Focus on the Family. More than just a documentary, it is a strategic call to action designed to help Christians navigate today’s cultural landscape with clarity, conviction, and courage.
At its core, the project addresses the decline of Western civilization by examining how faith, identity, and truth are being reshaped in modern society. It features prominent voices — including experts and advocates like John Stonestreet, Os Guinness, Chloe Cole, and Seth Dillon — who offer perspectives on how believers can respond to contemporary societal issues from a Christ-centered vision.
The Study: Participant Experience
Truth Rising: The Study is a four-part, video-based small group curriculum. As a participant, you will engage with content built around four key themes: Hope, Truth, Identity, and Calling.
The study is designed for small groups, church ministries, or individuals. It includes teaching videos by John Stonestreet and inspiring "courageous faith" story videos featuring individuals who have stood firm in their convictions under pressure. Each session utilizes a Participant Guide that provides Scripture focus, "big ideas," key quotes, and discussion questions.
The goal is to move participants from a place of feeling powerless in the face of cultural shifts to realizing their specific, God-given role in history. Through this study, you will explore four primary learning objectives:
The study is designed to be accessible and collaborative. While I enjoy very much being the facilitator and take the role seriously, the primary teaching is provided through the video curriculum, allowing the group ample time to focus on authentic discussion and applying these concepts to your specific local context.
